Description: Among other contests hosted by Lafango, this is their 1st Annual "World's Cutest Pet " photo contest. Winners are chosen by community vote. Membership to Lafango and contest entry is both free. Entry is limited to one photo per member.
Additional Info: Lafango is an online network that provides users with a platform to create, upload, and broadcast their talents. They host many contests throughout the year in writing, photography, singing, and other talents. While most of the contests are open to "all ages", you must be a registered member of Lafango to compete and/or vote. Per their terms of service, 13 years of age and under must be registered by an adult: "Lafango is intended solely for access and use by individuals that are fourteen (14) years of age or older. By using our services, you are certifying that you are at least fourteen years old. aww! i wish you would have told me about this sooner! I have some great pictures of my pets =) Oh well next time! i'll keep my eye out! but great contest/idea!
I'm so sorry! I think I posted it about the time you joined WonderHowTo and started your photography world. I'm sure there will be more pet photo contests elsewhere. I have loads of pet pictures (like those on this post), but I missed entering too. What I like about Lafango is the cash prizes but no entry fees. I just learned about them so haven't had a chance to get a feel for their site yet but at a glance, I don't think there is as much competition as on some other no-entry fee sites that get thousands and thousands of entries.
oh wow really?? So basically if you've got a good picture you have a decent chance and they really pay out? I had no idea about this website!
how do they get the funding for the prizes? do you know?
Whoa! I just went to contest page to see how many submissions were there now and found that their deadline has been extended to February 27th! I will update the listing shortly but check it out! You can view all the other entries. There's about 400 at the moment. You should enter!
I believe the prizes come from sponsors of the various contests. They don't just have photography. Part of the contests usually includes a community vote phase. Let me know if you enter! It will give me a good reason to make time to sign up so I can vote. :) Once I get signed up, I know I will have to enter some of their contests.
